This block is located on the corners of Washington Street and Central Square. This photo shows F.L. Pond's watches and clocks store, Frank G. Dort & Co., H.E. Fay Jewelers, and Wardwell & Co. Wallpaper. In 1880 there was a disastrous fire on this block and the new brick building was built, with Liberty Hall occupying the third floor.
